Please consider making a donation to Theatre Exile.

What an incredible year it’s been!

From the snappy and sharp season opening of Aaron Loeb’s Ideation, to the lyrical and biting production of Really by Jackie Sibblies Drury, to the much-lauded world premiere of local playwright Michael Hollinger’s Sing the Body Electric, it’s been a diverse and electrifying season showcasing the impactful creativity you’ve come to expect from Theatre Exile.

We had a blast presenting these contemporary and cutting-edge productions to our beloved Theatre Exile audiences! Even being in Exile away from our South Philly home - we really enjoyed the ride and we hope that you enjoyed it too!

You may have also come to our heartwarming production of Tommy and Me by Ray Didinger; attended a new script reading by one of three local playwrights in our Studio X-hibition series, all of which are heading toward world premieres; participated in our education offerings by attending a workshop or by supporting our students in our Paper Wings outreach program.  However you chose to be in Exile, thank you for your support of our 21st anniversary season!

As we plan for our 22nd year of bringing mind-blowing theater to adventurous audiences, wecontinue to count on you as a member of Theatre Exile’s prestigious group of arts patrons.

By joining us in Exile you‘ll stay connected to the most exciting theater in Philadelphia and make a huge impact on our community of artists, students, educators and audiences.  Your patronage will also help us navigate our time in Exile as we await our anticipated homecoming back to South Philadelphia (stay tuned for news to come).

At this pivotal time in our history, please consider making a donation to Theatre Exile.A donation of any level is greatly appreciated.  As an arts enthusiast, you already belong to an exceptional group of people.  As a supporter of Theatre Exile, you will join others who share your passion for thoughtful and engaging performing arts with soul and truth, along with a heavy helping of Philadelphia grit.

Your help is vital to our mission and financial well-being.  While we do receive some government grants, our artistic and educational programs are largely privately supported.  Ticket sales and other earned income cover approximately 30% of our operating expenses, which means that we must raise over $375,000 annually to deliver the kind of excellence on the stage that our audience members and artists have come to expect.

Your gift is at work every day sustaining a spectacular array of artistic and educational programs.  In partnership with our patrons,Theatre Exile has been able to bring the best and brightest theatrical productions to Philadelphia stages, provide vital theater education free of charge to K-12 students in our community, and promote new play development that could possibly become next season’s world premiere.

We invite you to become a Theatre Exile “insider” by entering our Society of Exiles.* Joining the Society of Exiles means joining a family of theater-lovers who enthusiastically encourage the creation of innovative work.
