Our Paper Wings education program was included in a recent Philadelphia Tribune article about programs at Andrew Jackson School.

"Eighth-grader Aviel Jackson has learned a lot since being in the playwriting program.
“This is my first year in the playwriting program and my experience has been great,” said Jackson. “One of the biggest things that I have learned so far is that you have to have confidence in yourself. Not a lot of people are able to stand up in front of a large crowd and show their work live, so you have to believe in yourself and your skills. While I have learned a lot so far, I do want to learn more about special effects and how to engage the audience.”
Eighth-grader Jason Sanchez says he has seen himself grown in the playwriting program since he joined last year.
“I was always interested in acting and writing plays, so once I heard about this program at Jackson I knew it would be a good fit for me,” Sanchez said. “I’ve actually grown a lot since being in the program itself. When I first joined the program last year, I was extremely nervous.
“I didn’t know how to be in front of an audience,” he added. “This year, I know what to expect. I know how to speak in front of a large crowd and I have so much confidence in what I’m doing now. It’s a great program.”
