The Sonder Space - VOLUME i.
The Sonder Space is a new visual and performing arts project providing a platform for emerging and accomplished artists to present their work with maximum creative freedom. The aim of this project is to organize and produce a dance performance that will highlight the creative talents of the dancers involved while investigating themes that are central to the human experience. When searching for a name for this project, we stumbled upon the word “sonder”, which means, “the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.” With that in mind, a priority of this dance project is to collaborate with other mediums of art to further connect our communities in bringing more art to the world.

A Case For The Existence Of God
With humor, empathy and wrenching honesty this play unfolds in an office cubicle where two people unexpectedly choose to bring one another into their fragile worlds. Keith and Ryan, discuss the chokehold of financial insecurity and bond over the precariousness of fatherhood. This “must-see heartbreaker of a play” (New York Times) offers a bird’s eye view of how the love you put into the world is what really survives – even when you can’t see it yourself.
CAMP SIEGFRIED
Set in 1938 Long Island, against a summer camp backdrop filled with activities, bonfires and dances, two teenagers meet and fall in love. As these youths’ love grows, so does their indoctrination into the Nazi ideology. This unfortunately timely tale, inspired by the real Camp Siegfried, offers what the New York Times calls a “terrifying psychosexual brew of sadism and fascism” masked as a coming of age story that illuminates how easy it is to become seduced by fascism and the hate that it can foster.
“Never underestimate your infinite capacity for delusion.” - Bess Wohl
